We address the challenges of critical issues affecting people's daily lives in a changing environment. Programs focus on economic, social and physical well-being of our clients. We strengthen personal and family relationships, encourage healthful choices, and identify recources to extend income.

All supplies are furnished.  Cost is $5 (due at time of registration)

Yeast Rolls  -  Knead A Little Dough
Impress guests with delicious homemade rolls and bread. Basics of yeast breads will be covered and participants will have the opportunity to make a refrigerator roll mix to take home and bake.  Bring an extra-large bowl.   Deadline to register October 20th.

Weighing In On Sleep
Research shows not getting enough sleep can cause weight gain as well as fatigue.  This program will cover stages of sleep and ways you can improve healthy sleep for a healthier lifestyle. Danielle Ford, Extension Agent for Family and Consumer Sciences

Thursday, November 2, 10:00 a.m., Extension Office
The Perfect Pie: Sweet and Savory
The Perfect Pie starts with a great crust.  This class will cover the basics of making a terrific pie crust and making delicious pies to use as main dish meals, as well as dessert.  Each participant will be making a crust to take home, so be sure to bring a pie pan. October 9-13 Meade County Extension Homemaker Week

The following classes will be presented for Extension Homemaker Week.  If interested in attending, please contact the Extension Office at 270-422-4958 to register.

October 3, 6:30 p.m., Extension Office. 
   Pat Carlson will be demonstrating how to create a fairy   garden (and it will be given away to a lucky winner). 

October 5, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Extension Office
   Mary Pike, Garrett Club, will demonstrate how to create a glass bird bath.

October 5, (following Mary’s demo), Extension Office
   Jennie Cooper will demonstrate how to make a clothes line basket.
